[Groups] Group discussion threads need to be threaded

Submitted by jamiet on March 8, 2009 to Usability

Messeges in a discussion thread appear in time order which means you can't see whom has replied to whom

There are a multitude of possible improvements for Groups following the recent v1 release though probably the most obvious is to make the discussion forums threaded (a la an NNTP client).

Changed title from [Group discussion threads need to be threaded] to [[Groups] Group discussion threads need to be threaded].

I read Gizmodo and LifeHacker blogs a lot, and I’d like to see that type of support for expanding/collapsing and sorting replies. In fact, blog and profile comments would also benefit from better organization tools. However, it’s easy to get carried away with too many crazy gizmos; the focus should remain on developing a simple, clean, and unobtrusive UI.
