hmm... I would say perhaps is something weird with my setup, but does has done it on clean installs...
unless messenger plus is somehow interfering?
hmm i can't reproduce this either.....
I've got the same problem. I think it has to do with Messenger Plus! Live, which I see you're using too. Seems like MPL doesn't let Aero Shake work, either.

Yeah, this is definitely a problem with Messenger Plus! Live. Try disabling tabbed chat windows, and/or upgrading to the latest version (4.82+).

I should also note that, even with chat windows disabled and the latest version installed, this will *always* happen in Windows 7 if you have it set to run in compatibility mode. I can tell from your picture that you're using Vista, but just for the record.
if you are running in compatibility mode you pretty much should not expect the preview run correctly, since it is not the way it intended to work.
@Kit: Thing is, this bug in Messenger Plus Live has been fixed for both Windows Vista and Windows 7. So if you're running it in Windows Vista compatibility mode, shouldn't it show up the way it does in Vista? By which I mean, fixed?
@jvd
What am I trying to say is that is not work as intended as it should be, I suppose you do that is to get rid of the picture tab , right?
It should be a request to an option to remove the tab without such non-official work-around....
@Kit: I think Windows Vista/7's window previews, in general, can only be disabled by disabling desktop composition.
If you have Messenger Plus! Live's tabbed chats enabled, Windows Live Messenger's chat window previews will still work, assuming that you're not running in compatibility mode. If you are running in compatibility mode, you can go into Messenger Plus! Live's options and disable tabbed chats, which are the cause of the problems. You're right, this is a workaround, but I wouldn't call it unofficial since it's an option built into Messenger Plus! Live, and this is the program that's causing the problem -- not Windows Live Messenger itself.
Marked as removed.
