Windows Live Installer insists on updating already installed programs.

I wanted to install the final version of Live Movie Maker and the now I'm waiting for the installer to finish RE-downloading ("updating") Messenger and Photo Gallery (luckily I only had those two installed)

There's no way you can choose when it comes to that. Good luck if you have a slow connection and many Windows Live programs installed.

Allow users to choose whether to update already installed programs or not. It's a real pain for users with slower connections.

I will +1 this, but I just think the reason they do this is because you should ALWAYS update your programs because a lot of times they will include security fixes and what not...

If the updates are so important why don't the programs at least let us know? :p
