MSN Toolbar or Windows Live? Just have ONE

Submitted by .Chris on March 6, 2009 to Annoyance, Usability

Why the need for two toolbars from you guys?

http://toolbar.us.msn.com/

http://download.live.com/toolbar?mkt=en-us

Both can serve the same purpose.

Merge both, ditch one (or both)

Note, I prefer the MSN design. I cant stand the ugly white and icon less crap your pulling. There is such thing as "too much clean"

Not sure I agree wiith this one, sorry Chris. Yes there is overlap between the two but MSN and Windows Live have different purposes and hence 2 toolbars makes sense to me!

[This is the kind of thing I change my mind about on a daily basis so expect me to come back and change this comment at a later date :)]

I think MSN needs to be dovetailed into WL, so I'll agree that there needs to be 1 Microsoft toolbar, but I'd prefer it to incorporate the best features of both current toolbars and be extremely flexible to user customization (add/remove anything on the toolbar). That way I could remove the annoying extra search box, as well as anything else I don't use.

Ha Ha, you use toolbars.

Ok, seriously, +1.

I dont. I see no point in toolbars, but microsoft only needs one toolbar,

Calum.Cook wrote on May 29, 2009, 10:39am

Yes. Ditch both of them. Browser toolbars are good for nothing. They serve only to get in the way.

Amen. Most web browsers have search bulit in. and I dont want to go and "bing" something now..

Calum.Cook wrote on May 29, 2009, 10:42am

Don't you like the name "Bing"? ;)

.Chris wrote on May 29, 2009, 10:46am

yeah. Kumo sounded better. "Bing" just doesn't sound right

Calum.Cook wrote on May 29, 2009, 10:47am

Agreed. And I'd love to be paid to come up with names for MS products. :D
