[Groups] Allow option to receive mail at the group email address from non-group members.
Right now, if anyone outside the group attempts to send email to the group's address, it isn't delivered (I'm not certain whether the sender gets a 550 error or not).
I'd like to see the option to allow non-group members to send email to the group's address. For instance, I have a family group, and I'd like to provide the group's address to friends, etc., as the "family" email address so they can send messages to everyone in my family, but I don't want to let them into my family group. This isn't appropriate for every group, so it should be an owner option. Additionally, the group members should also have an option to opt-out of e-mail from non-members.

Why would your "friends" need information about your "family" can't you just e-mail/tell them?
I'm afraid you don't understand the feature, .Chris. Currently, WL Groups has the option to disseminate information to all group members via a group email address (groupname@groups.live.com). The group email is just a repeater that forwards any messages sent to it on to each group member's personal email address. I'd like the option to allow non-members to send messages to everyone in a group by way of that email address. Simple.
I'll +1 this if you also add the some control over to the group member. This is a great way to generate a lot of spam. So, this could be another member control over the group like the ones suggested for how you want your updates in a group spread across your network - both of these should be handled by the end user, but the group owners should decide if the mail to members is even turned on or if the group is "public" or "private." So, I'll leave this one open and watch for updates to the solution. Let me know if you decide to change it, and I'll give you my vote! Ya gotta love politics!
Changed solution description.
