even better, automatically take a tagged picture of the person from Windows Live Photo Gallery. After all WLPG does use the same contact list for tagging!

@gregsedwards - the user has already paid for Windows. IM should be included with Windows as standard. The Mac version (Microsoft Messenger.mac) does not include advertising as far as I'm aware! The complete irony!!!!!!!!! Surely the Mac users should be receiving the advertising instead of the Windows users!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yes there should be an option to disable the notification area / tray icon. under 7 the tray icon shouldn't be enabled by default.
