Add batch operations for SkyDrive

Submitted by mjflynt on March 10, 2009 to Aesthetics, Annoyance, Usability

Currently anything in SkyDrive that is in a folder (photos, documents, links, etc.) requires that you go into the folder then into the individual item in order to delete, rename, download, move or copy it.

Add a check box to the left hand side of each item in at least the "Details" view of the folder and allow the basic operation of delete, rename (sequentially like in Windows), copy, move and download of items avoiding having to do this one item (more...)

Add group activities to my "What's new" feed.

Submitted by mjflynt on March 10, 2009 to Aesthetics, Annoyance, Usability

Most activity in a group does not advertise anywhere. New discussion threads do and some other things, but new comments do not.

Allow all group activities to advertise their activity via the group's "what's new" page and via my "What's new" feed. I should be able to select the scope of the advertisement to my network on a group by group basis.

Don't limit the size of groups to 20 people based on Messenger

Submitted by mjflynt on March 14, 2009 to Aesthetics, Annoyance, Icons, Usability

Instead of listing every member of a group in Messenger and limiting the group size to 20 or less (if it is going to use Messenger to allow group chat) why not list only those actually online and not limit the overall group size to a absolute maximum (more...)

List only the first 20 members of a group that are actually online, and allow them to group chat. Do not show the 21st and later online person or show them with a special icon indicating they are not available, and do not let them in the chat. Show them (more...)

Add an option to change the size of the user tile based on online/offline status.

Submitted by mjflynt on March 11, 2009 to Aesthetics, Usability

Currently the user tile size is selectable in options for favorites and other contacts. Keeping those two layout, but add the option of selecting an online size and an offline size would make it possible to make the offline contacts have a smaller tile (more...)

Groups should be classifiable as Public or Private or something like that.

Submitted by mjflynt on March 10, 2009 to Aesthetics, Annoyance, Usability

A group requires each member to be added manually and be approved.

A group classified as Public could be optionally allowed to auto accept new members and broadcast group updates to the group network and to your network (per your permissions settings), and a group classified as Private would require the manual acceptance (more...)

Live Contacts that use a Yahoo Messenger ID are not showing as online and cannot be contacted via web Messenger

Submitted by mjflynt on April 23, 2009 to Annoyance, Bug, Usability

Live Contacts that use a Yahoo Messenger ID are not showing as online and cannot be contacted via web Messenger. This seems to be affecting those who's Live ID is different that their IM address in their contact info.

This is possibly a bug, and it would require you fix it if so.

Add the ability to exclude users and categories of People from Permissions.

Submitted by mjflynt on March 10, 2009 to Annoyance, Usability

Currently you can add a person or a category to the permissions of most items in Live. But you can not exclude persons or categories. FaceBook has this feature, and so should Live.

This allows you to group together a collection or category (more...)

Add an "except these people or categories" section on each permission page to list persons and categories that cannot have access to the resource. Any person falling into the exception list would be denied access to the resource.

Add "View profile" back to the drop down menu for user tiles in People.

Submitted by mjflynt on March 10, 2009 to Aesthetics, Annoyance, Bug, Usability

You now have to "View contacts" then "View profile" when in People to get to their profile. This is the only place this has to be done!

Simply add the menu item "View profile" back to this drop down menu!

Add a better calendar date selector to the web based Live Calendar.

Submitted by mjflynt on March 10, 2009 to Aesthetics, Annoyance, Usability

In the desktop Windows Live Mail app the calendar selector on the left hand side has a year mode that is accessible by clicking the month and year at the top of it. This allows you to jump several years into the future or past without a whole lot of clicking. (more...)

A calendar date selector control in the web app like there is in the desktop app so you can switch to year view in the web app.

Add a quote button to the rich text editor

Submitted by mjflynt on March 10, 2009 to Annoyance, Usability

Quoting something using the rich text editor requires you to go into HTML view and add the <blockquote> tag manually.

Add the ability to select some text and click a quote button to automatically put the <blockquote> tags around the quote.
