Its what the USER wants, and some still like icons.

Windows live mail is being updated as we speak to use the ribbion UI, and it will have then icons back.

i guess microsoft wanted people to think it was 1984 all over again

to be honest, they need to introduce a whole new line of smiles. Some of these have been around since version 1.0 and most since 4.6/4.7
