Submitted by kev_gordon on March 9, 2009 to Aesthetics, Annoyance, Usability

Photo's STILL do not auto rotate according to the EXIF information embedded into pictures by 99% of digital cameras.

Merge messenger scenes with themes of Live websites.

Submitted by blai_cb on June 8, 2009 to Aesthetics, Annoyance

The default messenger scene is the same image than the default Live theme.
You can change these images but them work differently in msg than in the websites.
While in the web you only have a few predesigned themes, in msg you even can use (more...)

Change the image in both places when we chose a new one (predesigned or own).

Windows Live Toolbar adds unnecessary search bar by default, no option to remove it.

Submitted by hoopla_punta on March 5, 2009 to Aesthetics, Annoyance, Usability

I have no grudges against this, I think there are some people that like two search bars, but this takes up a lot of space and looks real cluttered. It could be replaced by some other functionality, like a scrolling "what's new" etc.

Give an option to remove the search bar and disable by default.

Submitted by alsiladka on March 18, 2009 to Aesthetics, Annoyance, Legacy

When using Windows Live Mail on Windows 7, there is an always existing icon in the taskbar as well as an icon in the tray which is hidden according to the new tray icon settings. And annoyingly, there are no jumplist options from the taskbar icon, the (more...)

The tray icon needs to go and the tray menu options should be ported to the Taskbar icon jumplist.

Add Photos of People to Windows Live Contacts

Submitted by cumbrowski on November 4, 2009 to Aesthetics, Usability

I have a very bad memory when it comes to people's names. I am a visual person. I recognize faces. Because I am aware of this weakness, I always try to add a photo of the person to my address book. I used to do that with Outlook. Now I am using Windows (more...)

[Windows Live Mail] Let users turn off emoticon substitution!

Submitted by pmbAustin on March 7, 2009 to Aesthetics, Annoyance, Usability

Currently, when typing in the body of an email, if you type ":-)", it's instantly converted into a graphic smilie face. There is no way to turn this off.

This is very annoying. I hate peppering my email text with distracting (more...)

1) Provide a configuration option to enable/disable the auto-substitution of graphic emoticons for text ones

2) Allow such auto-substitutions to be 'undone' with backspace, as well as Ctrl-Z, just like Outlook and Word.

Windows Live Mail: Bring back ability to view source HTML

Submitted by pmbAustin on June 21, 2009 to Aesthetics, Annoyance, Bug, Usability

In the old Outlook Express, you could turn on an advanced mode that would enable three tabs across the bottom... the editing tab (normal view), a preview tab (show email exactly as it will appear when sent), and a source tab (show the underlying HTML (more...)

Again, let the user be in control if they have the desire and knowledge. Please restore the ability to edit the HTML directly by adding an "advanced mode" that will turn on a "source" tab along the bottom of the editing window.

Geo-Tagging pictures within WinLive Photo Gallery

Submitted by JJohnson on March 26, 2009 to Aesthetics, Usability

Older digital pictures are not geo-tagged.

Add the ability to rudimentarily geo-tag pictures that I took before having geo-tag functionality built-in would be great. If my picture were taken in Avignon, France, take the place, and tag it, with WinLive Maps confirming the location. I would then (more...)
