A short way to get gedgets on desktop, like MAC.

Submitted by avsildahmi on March 20, 2009 to Usability

What i found is the way to display gadgets is shorter then vista in Win 7, but it can me more fast than that. We all want to use gadgets but most of us dont because we need to right click and get it, and there are many users who dont want the gadgets (more...)

I like the button on the extreme right of "show desktop", its so cool. please add a button or else put an option like Macintosh OS were you take mouse courser to a corner of the desktop and you'll get all the gadgets. even gadgets are old (more...)

How to import my mails?

Submitted by fmroska on April 6, 2010 to Usability

I have formatted my hard drive. Previously I have been storing all the mails in a folder in a different partition to recover if something like this happens.
I have gmail / yahoo / hotmail / accounts, and I made this just to not have to download (more...)

[Messenger] Change 'Appear offline' to 'Appear unavailable'

Submitted by JTaylor69 on September 19, 2009 to Aesthetics, Usability

At the moment the statuses are:

- Available
- Busy
- Away
- Appear Offline

The appear offline doesn't match in my opinion.

Change it to:

- Available
- Busy
- Away
- Appear unavailable

to match the 'Available' status.

I know it's not a huge issue, but it would only be a simple change.

[XP only] Cannot save any changes to pictures

Submitted by Ensign Joe on March 6, 2009 to Annoyance, Bug, Usability

Everytime you modify an image using "Edit" in Windows Live Photo Gallery you cannot save its changes. (Affects Windows XP only as far as I can tell)
You can rotate the image though but you cannot modify Saturation, crop the image, change (more...)

FIX IT!!!!!!!!!!

Note: Affects Windows XP only as far as I can tell!

New Windows Live Messenger with SEND BUTTON

Submitted by KPS on September 16, 2009 to Usability

New Windows Live Messenger has no SEND BUTTON

As Windows has forced us to upgrade to "Windows Live Messenger 9.0 (2009) 14.0.8089.726" we have no chioce but to surrender. However, there is a workaround.

SOLUTION

STEP 1 ~ Of course you will need to upgrade to (more...)

Show only the first 20 people online in a group in Messenger - not the entire membership.

Submitted by mjflynt on March 11, 2009 to Aesthetics, Usability

Instead of listing every member of a group and limiting the group size to 20 or less to allow group chat why not list only those actually online and not limit the overall group size.

List only the first 20 members of a group that are actually online, and allow them to group chat. Do not show the 21st and later online person or show them with a special icon indicating they are not available, and do not let them in the chat. Show them (more...)

[Spaces] Decouple the blog from WL Spaces

Submitted by gregsedwards on March 9, 2009 to Annoyance, Legacy, Usability

WL Spaces is required to host a blog. If photos, favorites, and other lists are not inherently part of WL Spaces anymore, then why is your blog?

The blog component should be decoupled from WL Spaces and reorganized under WL Profile and/or SkyDrive, the same way that Photos has be reorganized. Multiple blog support should be added. A link should also be added to the left side of my Profile page (more...)

[Messenger] Change my name window

Submitted by JTaylor69 on March 22, 2009 to Aesthetics, Usability

There should be a much longer field to input names especially if people like to go for long names (nearly everyone I know does)

Create a seperate window that can be opened when either of the following steps are taken:

Solution 1:
1. Click Name in Contact List Window
2. Click Change My Name...
3. Window Appears

Solution 2:
1. (more...)
