Add SharedView back to Messenger

Problem: The SharedView activity is no longer available in messenger.

Solution: This has been an oversight in past versions of Messenger and was added back when it was discovered missing. I guess no one has noticed so I will bring it up. Please add it back as an activity as SharedView is a great tool that is not given enough attention.

when clicking "sign in... " at the tray icon, messenger opens main window, it doens´t sign in.

Problem: The tittle pretty much describes the problem. Why does the main window have to pop up when I have both my email and password saved? It should just sign in minimized.

Allow more functionality of Games for Windows LIVE out of game

Problem: If you are not in a game with Games for Windows LIVE, the only things you can do with Games for Windows LIVE are look at the marketplace and look at your downloads.

Solution: Allow more functionality, such as Profile editing, friend adding/chatting, etc. out of game.

Wonder if this will be fixed with the ability to buy full games from Games for Windows LIVE?

Windows Live Installer insists on updating already installed programs.

Problem: I wanted to install the final version of Live Movie Maker and the now I'm waiting for the installer to finish RE-downloading ("updating") Messenger and Photo Gallery (luckily I only had those two installed)

right click "submit email as phishing scam"

Problem: In windows live mail (in the browser) you can submit junk mail (or regular mail) as phishing scam.

Solution: This should be included in the next version of the Windows Live Mail app. I think it will reduce the amount of phishing scams I and others get in their inbox and junk mail everyday.

[Messenger] Default "new message" sound is annoying

Allow the order of the filter rules to be changed

Solution: Add a mechanism to change the order of these. It could be a index number field or arrows to move up or one down or whatever. Just make it possible. So far as I know, this is not maintainable on the desktop client version.It's been like this FOR YEARS! (more...)

Make links more notcable in wave 4

Improve Live Search over the Live.com domain

Problem: It is impossibly difficult to find groups and other things in Live.

Solution: Add a better search capability for people, groups and spaces including searching on tags, filenames, group names, Spaces content, etc. I know that there is some of this, but lots of people are not happy with the available tools.

[Groups] Takes too long to get to a group

Problem: It takes 3 clicks to get to one of my groups; once on "More" in WL Header, once on "Groups" then once more on the name of the group at groups.live.com.

Solution: How about have a submenu under More-->Groups that lists all the groups I am a member of that I can browse by hovering over.

[Messenger] Limited length for keyboard shortcuts of emoticons

Solution: OK, some limit is needed, but 7 characters is enough for nothing. A limit of i.e. 15 characters should be enough. People will probably not use 15 character long words. With this limit, everybody will be happy.

Messenger slow to open from system tray

Add a contact view of Group by Online/Offline Status

Problem: You used to be able to group your contacts by online/offline status.

Solution: Add the view for grouping by online/offline status. If the Discussion Groups had their own tab then the contact panel could be viewed by categories or by contact status. This makes it tremendously easier to find your contacts when you have a lot of them (more...)

Allow for batch delete and/or expiration of Shared Favorites

Problem: Shared Favorites are difficult to delete yet easy to make using the toolbar. To delete one of these you must click on each one in order to get to a menu allowing a delete then click to get back to the list. If you have a lot of these you tend to ignore (more...)

Solution: You should be able to select a batch of them while in the Shared favorite's folder and batch delete. Optionally, you should be able to add an expiration date when creating them so they will automatically delete.

WLM doesn't use the system color for menu bar

Problem: The menu bar in WLM's Contact lists, which appears if you press Alt, doesn't use the system color. But it uses the system color for the hover effect.
This looks ugly on non-default themes.

Solution: Use system color.
